Brent Baker for Garfield County Sheriff
I was born and raised in Parachute, and this county has been my family’s home since my Great-Great-Grandfather settled here in the 1880s. At the age of 15 I began my life of service to my community as an Explorer with the Grand Valley Fire Protection District. Since 2002, I’ve served Garfield County in law enforcement, and today I’m honored to lead as a Patrol Lieutenant with the Sheriff’s Office.
But my proudest role is being a husband and father. My wife and I have been married since 2007, and we’re raising our two children right here. I want them — and every child in Garfield County — to grow up in a community that is safe, fair, and full of opportunity.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and have proudly served our community off-duty as well — as a volunteer Firefighter/EMT, a Director on the Garfield County School District 16 School Board, a member of the Colorado River Valley Little League Board, and as a youth sports coach. These experiences have shown me that building a stronger community starts long before a crime is committed — it starts with strong families, engaged neighbors, and leaders who care.
This is my home, my family’s home, and I will work every day to keep it safe.
My campaign is built on three principles:
Integrity, Transparency, and Accountability. Integrity must guide every decision we make. Transparency builds trust between the Sheriff’s Office and the community. Accountability means the law applies equally to everyone.
I’m running for Sheriff because I believe our community deserves leadership that listens, serves, and protects with honor. Garfield County is my home, and I’m ready to lead with the values that make it strong.
